When you tune in to WHRV middays, along with great talk shows like The Diane Rehm Show, On Point, HearSay, and Fresh Air, you’ll hear the voice of Victor Russo, the newest addition to the WHRV family.
Victor got his start in radio at the College of William & Mary’s radio station, WCWM. There, he hosted two weekly music shows—Henshin-A-Go-Go Radio and Sparking! Radio—and it was there that he developed his program Stories in the Sky. After graduating from college, Victor carried Stories in the Sky to WHRO’s Defenestration through an internship. He interviewed artists of various art forms in Hampton Roads through Defenestration, and in the summer of 2013, he traveled to Germany for a special edition of the program, interviewing stars like The Wise Guys and actress Maria Dragus. In January 2014, Victor became a full-time employee of WHRO, serving as the new midday host on WHRV.
Victor is a graduate of the College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, and he holds a certificate of fluency in Japanese. Beyond radio, he frequently works on various film productions and enjoys skiing, playing the piano, and watching movies. He resides in Chesapeake.
