OUT OF THE BOX
with Paul Shugrue                                                                                              listen

"Out of the Box"

Definition:

1. an expression that describes things nonconformist and creative.
2.  Used as a synonym for "brand new" meaning ready-made,  immediate,  just created.

Sample sentence;

"You can hear music that is out of the box, weeknights on 89.5 WHRV-FM."

Listen to OUT OF THE BOX, Monday through Thursday night from 7 pm to 9 pm and Saturday from 1pm to 5pm and you’ll hear alternative, Americana, blues, reggae, singer/songwriters,  Celtic, Cajun, world beat, electronica, local artists and more…..all mixed together by Paul Shugrue who will keep you up to date on all the great new music that’s being released but rarely played on the radio anywhere else.

OUT OF THE BOX is truly “alternative” music right here on WHRV-FM, 89.5

"Change Your Mind" is the second album for Hampton Roads singer-songwriter Julie Clark. It sets a new high water mark for the local recordings and could be the cd to put her on the national music map. Listen for it all week on Out of the Box, read Paul's review and listen to a sampler of the album by clicking on the cd cover.
