Dawn Newsome and Toni Freeman Join Public Broadcaster’s Staff

Norfolk:  WHRO announced today that Dawn Newsome and Toni Freeman have joined its underwriting department, joining seasoned underwriting representatives Diane Rogic and Donna Circelli, under the direction of Chief Underwriting Officer Bill Griggs, who supervises underwriting on WHRO TV15, WHRV 89.5FM and WHRO 90.3FM.

Newsome was a Senior Account Executive with Entercom Communications’ radio stations WNVZ, WPTE, WWDE and WVKL.  Prior thereto, she served as Executive Assistant, Producer and Program Manager for WTKR-TV.  Freeman comes to WHRO from Virginian Pilot Media Companies/Military Newspapers of Virginia.  She has worked for Radio One in Richmond, Virginia, and as National and Regional Sales Manager for Clear Channel of Norfolk.

“I’m delighted to add Dawn and Toni to our strong staff,” said Griggs, “as we work to expand the underwriting opportunities WHRO and WHRV can offer to Hampton Roads merchants and businesses, particularly with the new media services we are developing.”
